Is your feature request related to a problem?
-Technically. What’s the problem? Well, let’s start with today the fact that I spent 13 hours in city the other day and a mechanic was only open once for like 20 minutes and only worked on 1 car. (Not blaming him personally, just the lack of activity.)
-Problem 2: My truck seems to only fit in LSC doors.
-Problem 3: Circling back to mechanic activity in a highly popular city.
Describe the feature you’d like:
-Public paint booths at bare minimum big enough for transport trucks. Yes, technically I’m making this suggestion based off having my own hauling truck. However, think about what I mentioned above. How many people roll around the city in plain white cars? I saw lot. At least now they’d have the option to paint it.
Describe alternatives you’ve considered:
Well, I absolutely hate this idea, as it was also employed in the last city I was in, and I don’t fully know how businesses are ran in this city so I don’t know how accurate it could apply here. Alternative suggestion to boost shop activities from my last city instilled a minimum number of hours the shop be open with a minimum amount of sales (Held up to the discretion of the government.) Built upon a weekly, 3 strike policy. After the 3rd strike the business gets taken away and re-sold.
Now, you might think that’s a bit harsh and think “But now you’re taking a business out of the city.” and my response would be: No, not really. If you think about it, in order to get 3 strikes, lack of activity requirements means they’re already taking themselves out.
Also, don’t get me wrong, I get that it’s barely been 2 weeks since the new launch of city and not as many people can spend as much time in the city as I can and activity might get better. Which comes my other alternative solution: Government needs to look at application requirements and perhaps lower standards if too high. I was talking to someone in city and they mentioned he’s heard some shops won’t hire you (Not talking mechanic shops, all shops) unless you’ve been in the city for 6-12 months. Which is insane to me. As someone who has had to hire people for an in-city business I managed, I understand. I turned people away for extremely poor writing. I acted like it was a REAL job application and it should be. But, I would rather take someone who’s going to work for me for like 2-3 hours a day and have bad writing skills than someone with perfect writing skills and only work 2-3 hours a week.
Another alternative would be that make these paint booths only accessible to the entire public if there are no mechanics clocked in. Remove access to ALL except hauling trucks (Defined by their license plates. So don’t buy a custom plate for it) when a mechanic is clocked in.
Last alternative solution would be to allow mechanics to work on vehicles that can’t fit in the bay doors, outside in their parking lots. If the vehicle is too wide, too tall, allow them to work on it in the parking lot. This one, in my opinion makes the most sense.
Just my thoughts.
