Oxy run bug?

Anytime i want to do an oxy run, to start it i need to third eye the dude but every time i try to it stays grey. it doesnt give me the option to talk to him until i f8 quit and log back in. Been having this issue for multiple weeks but didnt think anything of it until it kept happening over and over.
