Moonshine ingredients disappearing

I was cooking moonshine, had the same amount of both ingredients, barley and yeast, but in the middle of cooking one of the yeast just disappeared out of my pockets. It’s happened to me a couple of times now, as well as some other people I know also moonshining and we just thought we didn’t grab enough ingredients or something, but when I was cooking today I know unequivocally that I had the same amount of both ingredients and by the end of it I was one short on yeast. It straight up just disappeared out of my pockets.
