Hunting Buff

Hunting could use a buff in my opinion! Compared to many other jobs it doesn’t really pay out all that well. With gun durability now being tied to time, and the cost of ammo & bait, the payout needs an increase in my opinion. I’d even go as far as saying a 50% buff would still put it behind many other jobs.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback, we're actually planning a comprehensive economy review across all jobs to ensure balanced hourly earnings.

I'd love to dive deeper into hunting specifically. Could you provide some details about your typical hunting session?

    What would really help:

    • Your current hunting level

    • Location(s) you're hunting at

    • Vehicle you're using for storage/transport

    • Average $/hour you're seeing

    • Time breakdown (how much time hunting vs. travel/processing vs. selling)

    • Any bottlenecks slowing you down (inventory space, travel distance, etc.)

The more specific you can be, the better we can balance progression and ensure higher levels feel rewarding. Appreciate you taking the time! 🙏

This is with 1hr 10m of work. Not including the drive to and from the city to paleto. Which is probably an extra 15m. I used a trailer I have on the hunting property combined with the trunk of a Karin Rusty Rebel. (Offroad, 350lbs)

This is two people’s worth of work. One chapter 15, one chapter 9. We bought 100 rounds of ammo and 70 bait to account for animals like coyotes that sometimes take 2 hits, as well as a couple missed shots.

Not including the cost of gas, the hunting rifles, or the knives, we made $1,771 of profit combined. That’s $885 each. In an hour and 10m.

The price of the hunting rifle would be acceptable if it was a 1 time purchase like it used to be, but now that gun durability depletes much more rapidly, the $1,800 isn’t worth it.

Factoring in the cost of the rifles/knives, our total would’ve been -$2,325 for an hour and 10m worth of work.

This was also a perfect scenario, as the hunter was open when we went to turn in our pelts. So worst case scenario we would’ve been waiting additional time to be able to turn in our supplies. I feel that the hunter should be open 24/7 as the fishing markets are open 24/7. But even with that, because this run was a perfect run where we didn’t have to wait on anything other than the bait timers, our total would’ve still be -$2,325 with the hunting rifles and knives included or $1771 without them included.

I also feel chapters are a little slow as I have put several days into hunting and am only chapter 15, and that was with a 1hr booster or two. I don’t have enough data on progression to make a valid case at this time though.

Overall the job is actually pretty fun and engaging but needs a large buff to be worthwhile in the current economy.
