Imo the way the leaderboard is setup doesn’t reward people that participate in the tournaments and do very well often. i am currently #1 on the leaderboard so this is not to benefit my standing in anyway.

The way i think it would be more fair if it was set up one of two ways but i am not sure what would work better.
Suggestion #1 - Use the points more so than the wins. I’m not sure if there is a system that takes points into consideration outside of a tie between wins but i feel that the score accumulated is pretty important and should be considered heavily on the leaderboard.

Suggestion #2 - There is a new “Standing” or “Rank” point system that rewards second and third place with lower points but still allows them to climb the leaderboard. 1st 5 points, 2nd is 2, 3rd is 1. something along those lines would still reward the winner with a bonus allowing them to increase rank quicker buy rewards top positions as well.

    Honestly, fishing tournaments don’t benefit anyone except those who place in the top 3 per tournament. Same with hunting tournaments. The one and only time I went to a fishing tournament there were 16 people. What’s the point of even participating if you know you’re going to lose and get nothing? I dunno if it would make it fair for those who won’t win, could possibly make fishing tournaments hot zones.

    That being said, points accumulated to dictate rank is kind of silly. Especially since the points accumulated are dictated by random fish caught. So either way you look at it, whoever comes first in tournaments consistently would remain at the top. Think of it this way, I’m only level 38 in fishing or something… if you stopped participating and I kept going, eventually I could pass you on the leaderboard simply by accumulating enough points. That’s not rewarding the winner(s). Though the discrepancy of points earned is a little high. 2 wins gets you 10 points for first but 2 wins for 2nd gets you 4. 3, 2, 1 should suffice. If all participants were on equal footing (Ie level 100, same rod, same bait) then that would be more than fair. RNG takes over.
